COFFS HARBOUR HANDS-ON INTRODUCTION TO CODING YR 7-12 - PRICE VARIES
Come to Coffs Harbour on the 24th and 25th August for an interactive introduction to how to use coding in your lesson plans.
Our Lead Teachers, Nandini Nayak and Matthew Lenton will lead you through how our Ruby on Rails program works and how it could be used across a number of 7-12 curriculum documents. You will be shown ways of introducing computational thinking, gamifying the process of learning to code and how to use HTML, CSS and Ruby to develop a web application. This is a great course for all those TAS teachers who are a bit anxious about the new draft 7/8 Mandatory Technologies curriculum, ICT coordinators that want to learn what is happening in industry, or even Business Studies teachers who want to understand web app development.
The course is running on the 24th and 25th August at the Coffs Habour Innovation Centre http://www.coffstechpark.com.au/business-services/innovation-centre
This is a program funded by the Department of Education NSW and is free for DET teachers. However there is a $20 booking fee to encourage everyone that has booked to attend. For non DET teachers the fee is $280/day. Please contact Sally Browner at [email protected] if you would like to book a spot for Non DET teachers.
