The future is here and teachers need to be comfortable facilitating classes that include STEAM skills. Tinkering and making are vital activities to teach computational thinking, problem solving and collaboration. Join us on the 21st, 22nd or 23rd of August at the Coffs Harbour Innovation Centre and learn how to engage your students and make your subject easier to teach with electronics, robotics and virtual reality. You will be set a few mini projects to develop, targeted to the age group(s) and subject that you teach.
This is a course, run by teachers for teachers. Our instructors have a wealth of technical and teaching experience. You will be given access to all the materials from the course via LMS Canvas. You will have the opportunity to get hands on experience with a variety of equipment and see how to integrate these tools into the proposed new NSW K-6 Science and Technology syllabus. You will be shown where and how to acess the best online resources and how to select the best equipment for your learners.
This is a program funded by the Department of Education NSW and is free for DET teachers. However there is a $20 booking fee to encourage everyone that has booked to attend. For non DET teachers the fee is $280/day. Please contact Sally Browner at [email protected] if you would like to book a spot for Non DET teachers. Our courses are all NESA approved and this course is worth 7 hours of proficient teacher professional development.
