Payment Options
Have you got the time and determination but your cash flow is a bit tricky? Donât let this bug get in your way of learning to code (see what we did there?). Take a look at our payment options and other fee-hacking solutions below.
Full Fee Upfront
If you have the funds ready to go, the most admin-free way to get going is to pay the full fee up front.
Monthly Payments
Ezidebit Direct Debit gives you an easy way to pay your fees monthly with a recurring payment schedule. The monthly fees are automatically collected from your nominated credit or debit account without you having to think about it.
FEE-HELP Loan
FEE-HELP (Eligibility Criteria Applies) is a loan scheme provided by the Australian Government that assists eligible students in the payment of part or all of their Higher Education programâs tuition fees. If you apply, your FEE-HELP loan will be under our parent Higher Education college AIT, who are issuing you with the accredited Diploma of Web Development.
Over your lifetime, you may borrow up to the combined HELP loan limit. For 2024, the HELP loan limit is $121,844 for most students. In addition, there is a one-off loan fee of 20%, imposed by the government, for undergraduate courses and vocational courses of study. The government pays AIT the amount of the loan, and you pay it back through the Australian taxation system once your annual taxable income reaches the minimum repayment threshold.
From 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025 the threshold at which you begin to pay back your loan is $54,435. This amount is subject to change annually. You may view the threshold here.Â
You will also need to have a Tax File Number to apply for FEE-HELP. For all criteria in regards to applying for FEE-HELP visit the FEE-HELP website.
You are eligible for a FEE-HELP loan if you:
- Are enrolled in a FEE-HELP loans-approved course offered by a FEE-HELP loans-approved provider.
- Are an Australian citizen, hold a permanent humanitarian visa and usually reside in Australia, or are a New Zealand citizen.
- Have an available HELP balance of more than $0 (that is, have sufficient HELP balance remaining).
- Meet student entry requirements.
Read all FEE-HELP eligibility criteria here. Contact us and we can give you more information on how all this works.Â
Entry Requirements
To enrol in our 10 month Bootcamp or Part Time delivery you must:
- Have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) or have appropriate exemption
- Have a unique email address
- Have access to a computer with an internet connection
- Be 17 years or older at the time of commencement (students under 18 will require a support letter from their parent or guardian)
- Have a high school certification equivalent to Year 12
Tech Requirements
All of the software that you need for your coding course will be supplied free of charge, however, you will need a reasonably current computer, i.e. 2020 or newer, with at least 16GB of RAM and the following specifications.
- PC: Supports Windows 10 or 11Â
- Mac: OS Monterey (minimum)
Everyone will have different preferences for the operating system used, and you might be tempted to switch to one or the other if you have heard that, âItâs the best OS for codersâ. Our advice would be to stick with the operating system you know best. You wouldnât try out new hiking shoes right before hiking the Camino trail, so it isn’t advisable to change from one operating system to another right before starting your bootcamp.
Diversity in Tech Scholarship
With so few women and minority groups choosing computer science subjects and degrees, we believe in facilitating confidence building via mentorship, role models, and educational opportunities that translate into real world experience through tech scholarships.
To combat the lack of diversity in technology, Coder Academy is proud to offer a Diversity in Tech Scholarship for each intake. This scholarship provides 50% off tuition fees and is judged on a creative submission.Â
The scholarship application deadline is 14 days prior to the course start date and successful students will be notified the Friday before the course starts.Â
To apply for our Diversity in Tech scholarship, you must first complete and submit your Coding Bootcamp application form. Once you have submitted this form you will receive a link to apply for our Diversity in Tech Scholarship.Â
Applications for 2025 Diversity in Tech Scholarship are now open.
Women in STEM Cadetship Program
The Women in STEM Cadetships and Advanced Apprenticeships Program is an Australian Government initiative aimed at increasing the number of STEM-qualified women in the labour force by providing funding towards education in higher education programs.Â
Funding of over $16,000 is available to eligible women in the workforce, regardless of how they personally identify.
For those accepted into the Women in STEM Cadetship Program, Coder Academy will offer part-time delivery of our beloved Web Development Bootcamp. Cadets in the program can continue working full-time with their current employer while upskilling to gain an accredited Higher Education Diploma of Web Development.
Course Credit
If you have completed relevant prior study, training and/or have industry experience, you may not need to enrol in the full duration of your program. Win!
- You may apply for credit of up to 50% of your preferred program. Academic consent must be obtained from the Executive General Manager, Academic Director or PVC & Executive General Manager, QAC officer if you are seeking more than 50% credit for your preferred program.
- An application fee of $100 (non-refundable) is required at the time of application. If you are granted credit for a subject, a tuition fee of 30% is charged. Eligible students can include this in their FEE-HELP loan.
