Chalani – Empowering Success

Chalani is already immersed in the world of web development as a freelance frontend developer, but until now has been self-taught.

“I am enrolling in Coder Academy with a clear vision of enhancing my skills and expanding my knowledge in the field of web development,” Chalani says.

“The primary motivation behind my decision is the opportunity to learn new frontend languages, which will not only broaden my technical expertise but also allow me to stay current with industry trends.”

“This course presents an ideal opportunity for me to identify and fill any existing gaps in my knowledge. Whether it’s refining my understanding of certain programming concepts or gaining practical experience in real-world projects, I am confident that Coder Academy will provide the resources and guidance needed to bolster my skills.”

“Ultimately, my enrollment in this course is a strategic move towards achieving a bright future in the dynamic field of web development.”

“In my career, I am committed to cultivating diversity in the tech industry through various actions. I will actively mentor and support underrepresented groups, providing guidance and resources to help them thrive in tech roles.”

“Through these efforts, I aim to create an inclusive and supportive tech community where everyone feels valued and empowered to succeed.”

Lina – Catalyst for Change

Just like Chalani, Lina has also come to Coder Academy with a clear vision to positively impact the industry.

“As the use of technology has become omnipresent, I’ve witnessed first-hand how abruptly and almost forcefully people whose mother tongue is not English have had to adapt,” Lina says.

“I see a struggle and an opportunity for someone like myself to contribute to the solutions and this scholarship is key to propelling my aspirations for more accessible and compatible technological experiences that welcome everyone as we move forward in this digital era.”

“As a person of colour who identifies as queer and gender non-conforming, I am committed to advocating for the representation and inclusion of marginalised communities within the tech industry.”

“I aspire to be a catalyst for change, actively promoting and encouraging individuals from diverse backgrounds to pursue opportunities in tech. Embracing diversity not only fosters a more inclusive environment but also leads to the creation of more innovative and relevant solutions.”

Jessica – Creating Strong Communities

Originally from Brazil, Jessica was studying law when a classmate relocated to Australia. This would prompt Jessica’s own move to Australia, and indirectly, her pathway into tech.

“I am ready to change my career and fully immerse myself in the exciting field of tech,” Jessica says.

“This opportunity would allow me to thrive in something new that will open many doors for my future and impact the tech industry positively.”

“After reading reviews, watching videos from past students, and even talking to girls who have completed their bootcamp with Coder Academy, I was very confident the school would offer a high level of knowledge and skills that would prepare me to take my first step in the tech industry.”

“The feedback I got from students was great; they were able to go from not having knowledge in the area to securing a job straight after the bootcamp.”

“In the Women in IT group that I’m part of, we frequently discuss how to get started in tech, and what I see is that many girls want to learn but they don’t know where to start, myself included.”

“This scholarship will give me an opportunity to learn about coding, gain new skills in a revolving industry, and be one more female in this area predominantly occupied by males.”

“Coming from not having a background or experience in tech, I find it very overwhelming trying to start from scratch in this field, which is vast and constantly evolving.

“Once I’m in this area, I would like to help other girls who also want to start a career in tech from the beginning, sharing my personal experience and providing them with guidance and direction.”

“I will connect with other women in the industry to create a strong community that shares support and opportunities. I believe women are capable of doing anything they put their mind to and if this opportunity knocks on my door, I’ll make the most of it to start my exciting career in this rapidly growing field in today’s world.”

“I believe these efforts will contribute to a more friendly and welcoming environment for minorities in the tech industry, creating opportunities for everyone to succeed and fostering a culture of inclusivity and innovation.”
